The most important question to ask yourself when you train your dog is " How do I convince my dog that I am the pack leader" This communicates to your dog that your in charge. As the pack leader you are the decision maker. For example - You will decide where you would go on your walks, on how to behave in different situations and how to respond to different people and things that you will come across in daily life.

Dogs are pack animals, so its important that you study how pack animals behave and operate in daily life. The sooner you understand the dynamics of pack animals and how the leader makes all the decisions for the pack, the easier it will become for you to train your dog. If you let you dog make its own decisions, then one day your dog will do something very wrong and make a mistake that you will regret later in life.

To understand how to become the pack leader you must first recognize that your dogs world is very different to yours. Your world, by that I mean, the type of car you drive, the amount of money you make and all the other things that we do as humans means absolutely nothing to a dog. All your dog really would rather trade all that for a nice little snack.

Just by giving commands for your to sit down before you give her diner is a long way from what you should be actually achieving in order to convince your dog that you are the pack leader that she should follow. Dominating your dog by being domineering is definitely the wrong way and it may in fact make the matter worse, teaching your dog that physical strength is what it needs to become the pack leader is a sure way to fire back at you. Even if you have a smaller dog and you may be able to force it into submission, but it does not mean it convinces your dog that you are worthy of being a pack leader just because you are a bully.

When you have convinced your dog that you are the pack leader, she will able to switch of completely and relax when she is in the house, if your dog is unable to relax she will think she is the pack leader and will be alert all the time because she is on pack leader duty!

"What Is Motivation And How To Get Yourself Motivated"

When you really reflect on what exactly is motivation, it come down to the creating a burning desire to get yourself to do something that you really want to achieve. It really is the difference to getting yourself to wake up everyday and create the habits that will lead you to a successful lifestyle and just lazing around all day and dreaming about the things you want to achieve. Motivation is the desire that will keep you going on even when you face tough times or failure.

 Most often we make goals and prepare a plan to execute to reach our goals but then we find that we procrastinate. This happens again and again, so what really is going on here ? The problem is that we are very good at thinking and conceptualizing what we want and are really bad at doing and following through and putting ourselves into action to get what we want to get. We forget (or some times don't even consider) one of the most essential step to get ourselves into action. We never take our emotions into account. Most research point out that feelings and emotions are what make people do what they want to do and not their thinking mind.


When we want to achieve our goals we just can't ignore our feeling. Our brains are structured in a way that if our thoughts and feeling compete with each other, feeling always wins. The more we try to fight our feelings for anything, it only makes them stronger and when our feeling wins, our thought will start rationalizing and making up a story.


There was once a research project undertaken where people were asked to see a very emotional and sad movie. One half of the subjects were asked to see the movie but to suppress and control their feeling and the other half of the subjects were asked to see the movie and feel whatever arises. After the movie they then asked all the subjects to do a very mind taxing test where they had to solve tricky puzzles and match colors. As it turns out the people who were asked to feel what ever arises did much better at those tests than the people who were asked to suppress and control their emotions. so it proves that we humans are emotional people and we need emotions and feeling to perform well.


So the steps in order to achieve our goals is that we need to use our thinking mind to plan and our feelings and emotions to act on what we have planned.

So once you have the thinking part out of the way the next thing you have to do is to get those emotions going so that you execute your plans.


Get yourself in a Positive state of mind


We procrastinate the most when we are in a bad mood. So we constantly need to get ourselves out of that state and start feeling optimistic. So the question you will ask is " How will I make my self feel optimistic when I'm not feeling it?" The best way is to monitor your progress and celebrate every minor achievement you have made. Research has been that there is nothing that gets us optimistic more than progress. Here's a quote from Teresa Amabile at Harvard

Reward yourself for achievements


Rewards make you feel good, so you can set a mini milestone and the reward yourself with something you like to celebrate and keep motivated. Another method that also works well is to penalty yourself if you have missed on doing something. Let's say you can give a friend $100 and tell them to keep you accountable. For example if you fail to do a task by 6pm they get to use the $100 but if you do complete it you can have it back.

Find a group who you would like to be and share the same goals.


One of the secrets to success as noted by author Napoleon Hill in his book "Think and grow Rich" is to surround yourself with people who have the same goals and who have already achieved success that you want. There is nothing greater motivation than the power of your mastermind group. As Charles Duhigg's says in his book " The power of habit" When people join groups where change seems to be possible, the potential for that change seems to be more real.

I want to tell you a fact why most women will never achieve their dreams of getting the body they want. They never set any goals.
Setting a goal and having a definite plan in mind is one of the most critical steps that will set you apart from most of the other women who want to lose weight. Because most people never set goals, they never set aside the time to create the habits that are required to get their bodies in shape and it will be a few years when they finally wake up and realize that they are fat and lazy. The great thing about setting goals is that you can give yourself a massive advantage to having a good body and creating the success in life that you want.

What setting a goal looks like?

It took me a long time to figure out exactly what to do in order to set goals to create the success I wanted in life.
I started out by doing a lot of research and reading a lot of books and going to a lot of seminars and consistent message of all the experts where:
  • Goals are what take us forward in life;they are like oxygen to our dreams.
  • Setting goals is a fundamental component to long-term success
  • The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score. - Bill Copeland
The interesting realization I had is that just the fact you set a goal, and better still have it written down with a set date for accomplishment gives you something to plan and work for. A well written goal is an external representation of your inner desires and is a constant reminder of what you need to accomplish.
So what is a goal?
A simple definition would be “A desired result a person envisions plans and commits to achieve a personal desired end-point in some sort of assumed development. Many people endeavour to reach goals within a finite time by setting deadlines.” – Wikipedia
Put it simply would be any planning you do for the future to attain a desired result would be a goal.  Once you set a goal, you unconsciously direct your mind to achieve what you want. After years of research I have come to realize that our minds are very powerful in many ways. The really are….. the ability it has to calculate things and figure things out is amazing. So when we focus our mind on our goals in a lot of cases we make those things happen because unconsciously our brain just moves towards that thing.

So how do you create your goals?

So the best way to start creating your goals is to first write down the result that you want to achieve by describing it to the finest detail possible.
So go to your journal and take out a blank page and what I’d like you to do is write down everything you would like to have as the end result to lose weight. I know right….. this could be difficult….. but I really want you to do it. I want you to write straight until you get the exact image of what you want to be to specific details. I want you to describe exactly how you would look, what clothes you would be wearing, how much you would weigh when you look down that weighing scale, the feeling that you will feel. The important thing is to write the sentences in the positive. For example: “ I would weigh exactly _____ pounds” and not “I will lose 20 pounds”.
With this exercise what you’re doing is getting your mind to focus to get those things that you want to achieve and you will unconsciously move more towards that. And to make it a lot more effective you should read this goal that you have written every day.
It may be a small thing to do, but it could change the way you think. It did for me

It takes 30 days to create a new habit. This means in order to change one you actually have to focus on it every day for 30 days. After 30 days it’s all set up and you just wake up and just do it automatically.

So how do you create a new habit to lose weight?

So here is the action plan…. The steps to creating a new habit and to getting yourself to do the important things everyday so you can increase your health, attract influential people, and help you lose weight.
Step one - Choose a new habit you’d like to create
Step two – Set a time every day, ideally, first thing in your day to do it
Step three – Don’t check email or voice mail before you do your new habit every day
Step four – Do your routine every day for 30days in a row and it will be set for the long term
Now it’s time to act so you get this into place in your life, so you start doing what it takes to et the energy increase you want, attract influential people you want to attract and achieve the income you want to achieve. So take out a blank page in your journal right now and write down the new habit you would like to create in specific detail. If you’re going to start exercising every day, write down how you’re going to get ready, what you’re going to wear, where you’re going to exercise, what the routine is going to be. Then mentally visualize yourself doing your new habit, your new exercise routine, 3 times in your mind. Imagine it in your mind clearly until you can see the entire thing and you see what you have to put in place to get yourself to do it.
Next put into your calendar for the next 30 days, put a note in your computer, in your phone so as to remind you to go and do your exercise first.

Living a healthy lifestyle starts young. However, many of us find ourselves as adults, overweight, and not sure where to start when it comes to losing weight. If I had to go back and give my younger self tips losing weight, this is what I would tell me:

Throw away the sodas- there is nothing in soda that is good for you, it’s filled with high fructose corn syrup and a ton of chemicals. If I could tell my younger self one way to drop weight quickly, it would be to get rid of all that crap. Instead, I wish that I would have started drinking water so much sooner. Not only do I feel better now when I’m properly hydrated, I don’t come down from a sugar high a few hours after drinking it.

Veggies are your friend- One thing I wish my younger self knew is that you don’t have to cut out everything you love to lose weight. Instead, you should think about portions differently. For instance, instead of denying yourself a burger when you really want one,
have the burger, split it in half and fill the other half of your plate with a salad or steamed veggies. That way you can satisfy your cravings and eating well for yourself.

Go outside and play-If you want to lose weight, you need to move more. However, when I was younger, I thought that meant you had to go to the gym. This is so not true, living a healthy lifestyle means finding things you love to get you moving. Take a hike, play on the playground with your kids, or go swimming and actually swim—activities like these will get your blood pumping without the boredom of a treadmill.
