Summer is right around the corner. You might have gained a few pounds during the winter as most people do but now that summer is right around the corner it’s time to get back into shape for the beach body you want. In order to get into the bathing suit you have wanted since this winter, following these four steps.
By taking control of your life you’ll be able to achieve anything. The first thing you need to take control of is what you’re eating. You may not think you eat a lot, and you might not, but it’s what you eat that counts. For a week, keep a food journal to see what you’re eating and how much. In your journal write down how many calories you’re consuming. You may find that you’re actually consuming a lot more than you had thought.
While you keep track of the foods that you’re consuming, start a work out plan which includes good exercises to lose weight . Don’t jump into working out two hours a day thinking this is going to help you lose more weight quickly. In the long run you’ll just get burnt out and will want to give up. Look online to find some suiting exercises to do at home to lose weight. Write down what work outs you’re doing and how many of each work out you did. If you did ten push ups this week, chances are you’ll get to fifteen or even twenty next week.
Now that you've recorded what you eat for a week it’s now time to take control of your portions and what you’re eating. Fill your plate with lots of veggies. Make sure to get full off those veggies and proteins. You shouldn’t be consuming too many carbs such as rice and pasta. Eat good fats such as yogurt, low fat milk, olive oil, and peanuts.
Don’t Worry About It
This may sound like a silly thing to do while trying to diet but it’s very accurate. If you worry about losing weight you’ll start to stress over it. Stress will in turn cause you to produce cortisol. Cortisol is what keeps us from losing weight and even makes us gain weight. There are ways to fight this. Stop stepping on the scale first thing every morning and seeing you only lost a small amount of weight or none at all. This is going to stress you out. Just act like you don’t care while still being focused on your weight loss goals. Weigh yourself once a week on the same day each week. This will be more of a surprise to you and will brighten your week up. Just keep your eye on the prize through out the week and it will give you something to look forward to next week.
You might have been used to drinking coffee in the morning and soda in the afternoon for that extra energy burst. It’s time to change that. It’s okay to have one cup of coffee in the morning but try to not over indulge with coffee. Also, make sure to drink it black with no added sugars, it’s better for you. For the rest of the day, water is your best friend. Believe it not, water gives you energy. Our bodies are made of mostly water and without it we feel drained and tired. We have mistaken drinking soda or large amounts of coffee for giving us that energy when in fact water is what needs to fuel us. After about a week you’ll notice a big difference when you’ve missed a large amount of water during the day.
As can be seen, there are many things you can be doing in order to get ready for summer. Just keep your mind focused on losing weight and looking great without worrying yourself too much. Stay on track and you’ll be enjoying your new beach body in a short amount of time. Don’t be stuck inside all summer because you decided to not take the extra measures to lose that winter fat.
